Family Liaison

 

The role of Family Liaison at the Academy is to provide support, advice and information to all our families. They can help you with any worries or concerns that you may have in relation to your child’s education, behaviour and wellbeing. They are also here to support parents with issues that may be impacting family life, such as housing concerns or benefit advice.

All advice and support discussed is confidential, although concerns relating to the safeguarding of children will always be dealt with in accordance with The UCL Academy’s Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy.

Support for pupils includes:

  • Promoting good attendance and punctuality
  • Enhancing self-esteem and confidence
  • Encouraging and supporting positive behaviour
  • Developing positive attitudes to learning
  • Support with issues in/out of school

Support for parents includes:

  • Providing information about services in the local area
  • Completing referrals to relevant agencies, e.g CAMHS, Early Help
  • Completing forms/applications
  • Advice and support in promoting positive behaviour at home
  • Support to improve school attendance
  • Signposting for help with housing, finances and debt, health, etc.
