Basking in the Heat of the Sun –
UCL Academy A Level Results 2026

The students of UCL Academy are truly basking in the heat of today’s sun as they receive their outstanding A Level Results for 2026. With a trend of continual improvement, today we particularly celebrate the high proportion of students who have achieved grades significantly higher than their predictions based on GCSE outcomes. 

The Class of 2026 have demonstrated exceptional resilience and graft, culminating in the great success stories of today. Many of our students experience economic disadvantage (a third of our students) and broader extenuating circumstances, yet we simply buck the national trends through their unwavering ambition – they simply don’t accept that their life chances should be limited in any way. 

Again this year, almost half of the cohort achieved A*-B grades, and 71% of students achieved A*-C grades. There were admirable performances in Sociology, Geography, Fine Art and Spanish, with over 90% A*-C grades achieved. Of all A Levels, 12 subjects achieved 100% pass rates.

The highest accomplishments include 18 students who secured at least 2 A*/A grades, with 3 of those achieving all A*/A grades. Overall, UCL Academy students secured an exceptional 55 A*/A grades.

We are delighted that over 40 of our students have secured places at Russell Group universities including Cambridge. With such a diverse intake and ambition, we are very proud that our students continue to access a wide range of courses at universities across the UK.

Some of the stand-out individual performances from Academy students:

Deena Molokhia is a student that we are particularly proud of at UCL Academy. As the school approaches its 15th anniversary in 2027, we are now seeing the completion of the education of all the siblings of the same family. Deena Molokhia, the fourth and youngest of the Molokhina clan to complete all their education at UCL Academy, has achieved A*AB in maths, further maths and physics. This is proof of her consistently positive attitude, high motivation, and strong commitment throughout the A Level course.

She is now continuing her education at City St George’s, University of London, studying Civil and Infrastructure Engineering.  

Deena Molokhia reflected:
Deena spoke with heartfelt enthusiasm about the strong sense of community she experienced with her dedicated teachers and supportive classmates, highlighting how the environment sparked her love for learning and empowered her to pursue her goals at the Academy.

Jon Bajcinca is simply an outstanding all-round student who has worked exceptionally hard throughout the last two years of A Levels, absorbing every single piece of advice and taking every opportunity to cross his path. Today he has achieved A grades in Economics, Geography and Government and Politics.

Jon has secured his place at King’s College London, where he will study Political Economy. He is instead pursuing an Apprenticeship at JP Morgan – an outstanding opportunity by any measure. Jon is most definitely a student  who will, in his professional career, be leading the way in sustainable economic practice.

Jon reflected:
Jon expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the teachers who stayed after school to review his work and provide him with additional feedback. He also fondly mentioned his friendship group at UCL Academy, highlighting how they supported and motivated each other to excel in their studies.

Adam Ishak is an academically able and focused individual who embraces hard work with unassuming determination. He has an exceptional enquiring mind which is reflected in the grades he has been awarded today: A* in Maths and A’s in Further Maths and Physics.

Adam has secured a place at Robinson College, University of Cambridge to study Mathematics.  

Adam reflected:
Adam singled out the Maths department as having a huge bearing on his momentous achievements today.

Sarah Ouadam is a very thoughtful and dedicated student who has an exceptional talent in the sciences, achieving A* and A respectively in Biology and Chemistry and a B grade in Psychology.  

Sarah has secured a place at the University of Plymouth to study Biomedical Science, reflecting not just her academic performance but also the additional, wide-ranging activities she undertook to prepare her well for the next steps in her education and professional life. Most notable has been the weekly volunteering at MIND UK – she is one to look out for in the future in the field of mental health awareness.  

Sarah reflected: 
Sarah thanked the selflessness of teachers, explicitly her Chemistry teacher, for staying behind on many occasions to help elevate specific areas of her understanding. She also spoke candidly about the hard-working nature of her peers and the wider Sixth Form community, and how this ultimately motivated her to work harder and harder.

Amelia Alioua is a consistent, resilient and hardworking individual who has a particular strength in interrogating and embedding her knowledge into well-reasoned evaluations across all three of her social sciences. Today, she has been awarded A grades in Government and Politics and Economics and a B in History.

With such outstanding results, she has secured a place at the University of Manchester to study Law.

Amelia reflected:
Amelia genuinely appreciates the sacrifices her teachers made, dedicating their personal time to conduct masterclasses and grade assignments, and believes this support significantly improved her grades. She also expressed her fondness for her peers and the Academy community, which greatly contributed to her overall enjoyable experience at school.

Ibrahim Al Dabbas has made exceptional progress from Year 12 into 13, achieving A’s in Biology and Chemistry and a B grade in Sociology. With such diverse achievements in his subjects, we are delighted that he is going on to study Biomedical Science at the University of Plymouth.

Ibrahim reflected:
Ibrahim expressed immense gratitude for his teachers, stating that they were the primary reason for his remarkable achievements. He emphasised that every department provided him with the opportunity to excel, thanks to the excellent teaching and clear instruction he received at every stage.

Ricardas Knura has, throughout his A Level studies, been an exceptionally curious student with very high aspirations and commitment to his studies. He consistently embraced his studies with unremitting enthusiasm and verve, and sustained an unrelenting desire to achieve mastery across all aspects of his studies. 

With an incredible flair for maths, he has achieved an A* in Maths and an A in Further Maths. Additionally, he achieved an A* in Physics. He has secured a place at the University of Bristol to study Aerospace Engineering.

Ricardas Knura reflected:
Ricardas highlighted the powerful influence of being surrounded by his peers, who shared his passion for academic excellence. This supportive environment fueled his determination and played a crucial role in driving his successes during his time at the Academy.
